Haiti's St. Joseph's Home - Boy's Prayer, a Prayer of Abandonment: Father, I abandon myself into your hands, Do with me what you will. Whatever you may do, I thank you. I am ready for all. I accept all. Let only your will be done in me and in all your creatures. I wish no more than this O Lord. Into your hands I commend my soul. I offer it to you with all the love of my heart, For I love you Lord And so need to give myself, To surrender myself into your hands, Without Reserve, And with boundless confidence, For you are my Father. Welcome Pic
Friends,

Three Chopt Presbyterian Church is affectionately known as "TCPC." We invite you to worship with us and discover for yourself the unique community of faith that is TCPC. You will find a compassionate group of people who will welcome you with genuine warmth and quickly consider you to be part of the TCPC family. Here you will find teens and active retirees working side by side, sharing laughter while on mission in the inner city. In worship, beloved hymns sung by our choir are accompanied by traditional organ or more contemporary tunes are heard with guitars, saxophones and percussion. New friends are embraced and included even as strong bonds keep long-timers connected over many decades.

Join us on this journey of discipleship as we share the good news of God's love and grace to the world.

Please contact us or click on about us to give a member of the TCPC staff your questions, comments and requests!

In Christ,   Brenda

While I believe God invites us to be saints, I don't think God calls us to be superheroes who rush off to exotic places to save the world. God calls us to follow and serve in our ordinary lives - as spouses, students, friends, employees and volunteers. Three Chopt is a church that helps us see how God's all-surpassing and often surprising power is at work in extraordinary ways in our ordinary lives.

Blessings,    Ed

Professional Connections & Support Avenues

With layoffs at local companies and a struggling economy, there is a need to deepen professional networks, especially for those seeking a new job.  Follow these links to two local groups that help strengthen professional connections and that offer support and guidance for those searching for employment.  If this information is helpful to someone you know, please share it with them.

Career Prospectors is a local group that offers professional networking and job search skills. The "Helpful Links" section lists other groups and organizations that may be of help.

Needle's Eye is a group that offers support and fellowship for Christian business people as well as a group for those in career transitions (see the "programs" portion of the website for details about the various groups).

Three Chopt is a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) denomination, within the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic, and locally a member of the Presbytery of the James.

If you were previously baptized, but never made a public profession, you may join by making a public profession of faith
  • by Profession of Faith in Jesus Christ and Baptism
If you have not been baptized, you may join by making a public profession of faith and being baptized.
  • by Reaffirmation of Faith
If you have been a member of a Christian church but have not been active in recent years, you may join by reaffirming your need of and dependence on Christ

The Day You Join

You will gather for photographs and a meeting with the Session.  You will be received into membership by answering the following questions:

  1. Do you trust in the Jesus Christ and accept him as your Lord and Savior?
  2. Do you intend to be Christ's faithful disciple, seeking to obey his teaching and to show his love to your life's end?
  3. Do you intend to continue in the covenant God made with you in your baptism, to be a faithful member of this congregation, to share in its ministry through your prayers and gifts, your study and service, and so fulfill your calling to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?

You will be welcomed and introduced to the congregation at a worship service following your meeting with the Session.
